Hitting the Wrong Key
Your finger landed on a neighboring key instead of the intended one. This happens when muscle memory is still forming.
⚠️ Common Causes
- •Typing too fast for your current skill level
- •Not using proper finger placement on home row
- •Looking at the keyboard instead of the screen
✅ How to Fix
- •Slow down to 80% of your max speed during practice
- •Use the home row anchor: ASDF for left hand, JKL; for right
- •Practice problem letter pairs individually (th, er, in, an)
- •Try blind typing drills — cover your hands with a cloth
🎯 Practice Exercise
Type 'the quick brown fox' 10 times at half speed, focusing on each keystroke.
